Statistical analysis of historical climate data, covering 20 years of data for roughly 5000 weather stations. Predicting future tide heights for study area in Alaska. Analyzed snow-depth and ice-thickness data in the Lake Champlain watershed.


COLD REGIONS RESEARCH & ENGINEERING LAB, Hanover, NH

1991-1995: Physical Science Technician

Computer, data-collection, and analytical support for geographic and climatic specialists at Army Corps of Engineers research lab specializing in cold-regions environmental and engineering issues. Selected and analyzed data from experiments, remote sensors, and databases, using a wide variety of software on Macintosh, Unix, Windows, and MS-DOS platforms. Supervised the Climatic Laboratory's library of meteorological publications. Coauthored Special Report on estimating snow depths from snowfall, temperature, and other parameters.


GEOGRAPHIC DATA TECHNOLOGY, Lyme, NH

1990-1991: Digital Mapping Technician

Analytical, production, and processing duties for leading producer of mapping databases. Updated and enhanced the Bureau of the Census's TIGER geographic database. Ensured quality, accuracy, and data integrity for state-of-the-art geographic information systems products, such as GDT MatchMaker and GDT DYNAMAP/2000. Member of team which built the basic version of the nationwide street-network database used in later years by virtually every mapping site on the internet and on most CDROM-based mapping products.

Clerical and analytical support for 1990 Decennial Census. Follow-up field work in southern New Hampshire.


DUKAKIS FOR PRESIDENT COMMITTEE, Boston, MA

1988-1989: Campaign Staff

Grassroots field-organizing and promotion for Michael S. Dukakis's primary-election campaigns in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin. Organizing speeches, rallies, demonstrations and other visibility events in the field and at the National Convention in Atlanta. Responsible for all incoming and outgoing mail and shipping to and from national campaign headquarters during the General Election campaign. Post-election correspondence, bookkeeping, and general cleanup.
